ABOUT KINO
My name is Max Jones. Born and raised in South Wales, I now live in England with my beautiful and supportive girlfriend. A lover of the Arts, I studied graphic design at Gower College Swansea and the University of South Wales, graduating with a Bachelor's with Honours in Visual Effects & Motion Graphics.
You'll often find me practicing my voiceover and acting skills, or working on my graphic design projects. When I'm not hard at work improving my craft and talking to prospective clients, I'm often reading or gaming.
THE RECORDING PROCESS
Despite my Welsh roots, my accent is Received Pronunciation, or "General British" as it is sometimes referred to as. The voice I use for recording is similar to my natural speaking voice. This has, for as long as I can remember, been my way of speaking.
I would describe my voice as being slightly higher in pitch, though I am capable of lowering it when required. Indeed, when the script calls for it, I can be flexible with my tone and pitch to suit the required emotion or general feel of the project at hand.
My voice is perhaps, suited to advertisements that call for a British accent and the connotations that come with it. This is why I chose to voiceover adverts like Nescafe Gold, Rolls Royce, and Gillette.
Though I generally intend to stick to my British accent, I am taking courses to not just learn, but attempt to master a few other accents, such as the American accent. I am also learning the Welsh language, though I am not yet fluent.
